Maintaining your own Bromic Gas Heater – all other servicing to be carried out by your registered gas installer.

Have a correctly installed gas system by a registered gas installer – find a gas installer on www.saqccgas.co.za website.

Make sure you are using the correct gas for the model gas heater you have purchased or installed.

Check warnings on the instruction manual before use. Ensure installed away from any flammable materials such as curtains, furniture or clothing.

Ensure you have a Bromic Quick Release Valve installed in your home or living area. You can have multiple quick release valves installed on your property so that you can move the heater from room to room, such as from the lounge to the dining room.

Ensure there is sufficient ventilation for your Bromic gas heaters, but do not place your heater in a high-traffic or drafty area. They are fitted with an ODS or Oxygen Depletion Sensor pilot light safety system. The OPDS shuts the heater off should there be a lack of fresh air or oxygen.

Pilot and Burner Inspection
Each time you light your heater, check that the pilot flame and burner flame patterns are as
shown below. If pilot flame patterns are incorrect, turn the heater off and contact your place
of purchase or an authorised service technician for assistance. Do not operate the heater if
the pilot flame pattern is incorrect.

It is recommended that an authorised person performs an annual maintenance check on the heater.

If using the heater for the first time after more than 3 months, it is recommended that you do the following:

  • Replace the ignitor battery
  • Check the hose assembly for any wear or damage (if any damage is detected, promptly contact your place of purchase for help before operating the heater). It is recommended that the hose be replaced every 5 years by your installer.
  • Check for leaks (see step 9 in “Installation” section)

DO NOT MODIFY OR OPEN YOUR BROMIC HAS HEATER – this will affect your warranty.
